HEAD OF ENGINEERING

We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader who’s excited to build something and expand the functionality of our products. At BrikMate, the Head of Engineering is more than a technical role — it’s a chance to shape product direction, grow a team, and help reinvent how an entire industry works.

You’ll lead and mentor engineers, design backend systems, and collaborate closely with product, AI, and leadership. What You’ll Do

• Lead the engineering team and help define our long-term technical strategy
   
• Design and build backend services and APIs to support our AI platform
   
• Guide infrastructure choices and improve our cloud systems (AWS)
   
• Optimize PostgreSQL for speed and reliability
   
• Oversee ETL pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data
   
• Set standards for testing, deployment, and system monitoring
   
• Partner with AI/ML, frontend, and product teams to deliver reliable features
   
• Foster an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
   
• 3+ years leading technical teams or managing engineers
   
• Strong backend development skills (TypeScript, Node.js, Express or NestJS)
   
• Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS infrastructure
   
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
   
• Clear communicator and team player who cares about the details

Nice to have:

• Experience in commercial real estate, proptech, or AI tools
   
• Familiarity with tools like OpenAI APIs, Langchain, Kafka, or SQS
   
• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architecture
